We stick to the facts so far and put all the teams latest news in one place so you can familiarise yourself with who is in what colours for next year. We’ll keep updating it in real time too, making sure you’re as up-to-date as possible.
\n- CONFIRMED -
\nThe reigning World Champions will retain their very own reigning World Champion in Marc Marquez until at least 2028. The Spaniard will have a new teammate though in Pedro Acosta, who moves from KTM machinery. ‘The Shark’ will also be in Ducati red until at least 2028.
\nThe current Championship leaders confirmed Marco Bezzecchi on a multi-year deal ahead of the Sepang Test at the start of 2026 but his teammate was confirmed at the Dutch GP: Francesco Bagnaia. The double World Champion has a four-year deal with the Noale brand.
\nFabio Quartararo and Alex Rins have been officially announced as not part of the project from 2027 onwards. In their place, 2024 World Champion Jorge Martin and Japanese sensation – and newest MotoGP winner – Ai Ogura. Both have contracts until the end of 2028.
\nNadia Padovani’s team have confirmed a full changed line-up for 2027, mixing MotoGP championship-winning pedigree with youth as Joan Mir and upcoming rookie Daniel Holgado get set to jump on Ducati machinery.
\nFollowing Pedro Acosta’s departure, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing have announced an all-new lineup for 2027 as Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio prepare to make the switch to the Austrian manufacturer for the upcoming season.
\nPlans are beginning to take shape at Honda HRC Castrol following the announcement that Fabio Quartararo will join the squad from 2027. His teammate remains unknown, with HRC yet to confirm whether Diogo Moreira or recent HRC signing David Alonso will partner the #20 in the factory team. There will be a shake-up in management too, as Alberto Puig leaves his role as team manager and becomes an advisor, being replaced by Mikihiko Kawase.
\nOne side of Lucio Cecchinello’s team has already been confirmed and was done so last year, with Johann Zarco penned in for 2027. The other side with Pro Honda LCR is yet to be confirmed. HRC recently announced a multi-year deal with David Alonso, with his team yet to be confirmed, whilst Diogo Moreira is already in the first year of his own multi-year HRC contract.

\nValentino Rossi’s outfit currently have the honour of being the top-placed Ducati team in the World Championship standings although no rider line-up has been confirmed. It’s worth noting that ‘The Doctor’s quip after the Catalan GP to Fabio Di Giannantonio about “are you sure you don’t want to stay” didn’t go unnoticed, suggesting the #49 is on the move.
\nWhat is 100% confirmed is that Ai Ogura will not be part of the American team’s plans after his new deal with Yamaha. We await confirmation on the line-up at ‘the house’.
\nNothing has been officially announced regarding Gunther Steiner’s team for 2027, other than the fact that Tech3 will race with KTM machinery from 2027 and beyond following a multi-year agreement.
\nNo concrete plans have been confirmed by the Japanese marque; one change is that Alberto Puig will leave his role as team manager and become an advisor, being replaced by Mikihiko Kawase.
\nFinally, no news for Paolo Campinoti’s team with regards to 2027. Rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu took part in the tyre test on Monday after the Czech GP with the new 850cc prototype; besides that, no indication of who is there in 2027 and beyond.
One of the biggest rumoured moves of the season is now official: Fabio Quartararo is moving to Honda. The 2021 World Champion has signed up to race for the Honda HRC team as the new 850cc era of MotoGP begins next year, confirmed with the factory for 2027 and 2028.

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) are pleased to announce the signing of Quartararo for the 2027 and 2028 MotoGP World Championship seasons, he will race for the factory Honda HRC team.

The 27-year-old joined the premier class in 2019 and immediately made his presence felt. After a record-breaking run in the then FIM CEV Moto3 International Championship and four competitive seasons in the Moto3 and Moto2 World Championships, his rookie MotoGP season saw him take pole position in just his fourth race, with a total of six poles and seven podiums in 2019.
\nIn 2021 he won the MotoGP World Championship, following it up by battling to second the following year. The French rider has taken a total of 11 wins, 32 podiums and 21 poles to date in the premier class – and soon a new chapter begins with Honda.
He’s confirmed in the HRC Honda squad and the announcement comes just after Honda also announced the signing of David Alonso, who moves up from Moto2. For the Colombian, it’s not yet confirmed which team he’ll race with – so stay tuned as we wait for more pieces of the 2027 puzzle to fall into place.

It’s official: Honda Racing Corporation have announced the signing of David Alonso from 2027. The Colombian has a multi-year contract with the Japanese giants, but it’s not yet been confirmed which team he’ll race with – the Honda HRC team or the LCR team.

Alonso has made waves in the paddock since he finished third as a Moto3 rookie in 2023 before dominating the class the following year. Currently in his second season in the Moto2 World Championship, Alonso took his maiden intermediate class win at the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix and currently sits fourth overall in the 2026 title hunt.
\nWith a total of 20 wins, 30 podiums and nine pole positions across Moto3 and Moto2, Alonso has continued to surpass expectations. He will make his debut on the 2027 Honda machine at the post-race Valencia Test.

Fabio Di Giannantonio has been confirmed to partner Alex Marquez at a new-look Red Bull KTM Factory Racing line-up from 2027, with both signing multi-year deals with the Austrian factory.
Across his five seasons in the premier class to-date,
Di Giannantonio has progressed up the ranks and currently sits in the top three of the 2026 championship standings, having taken his second MotoGP win in Barcelona this season - adding to a popular victory in Qatar in 2023.
The Roman has three rostrum appearances, including that victory, from the ten rounds of 2026 so far - as well as four Sprint podiums - and completes the all-new orange line-up from 2027.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has confirmed that multiple MotoGP winner Alex Marquez will join the team in a multi-year agreement starting from 2027. The 2025 MotoGP championship runner-up brings his talent and knowledge into the third phase of the Red Bull KTM MotoGP story and for the new technical era.
The Spaniard won titles in Moto3 and Moto2 on his way to MotoGP, and celebrated his first GP podium appearance and win with a KTM RC4 in Moto3 back in 2013. Moving to MotoGP for 2020, Alex Marquez took rookie podiums and has since become a multiple MotoGP winner, taking to the top step in Jerez, Catalunya and Malaysia last season on his way to runner up in the Championship. He won again in Jerez in 2026.
The #73 is renowned for his speed and maturity as well as his achievements: attributes that will assist Red Bull KTM in the development of the RC16 for the 850cc formula from 2027.

After announcing Daniel Holgado earlier in the day, BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP have now confirmed their 2027 line-up as Joan Mir gets ready to make the switch from Honda HRC Castrol at the end of the current season.
\nHaving spent the last four campaigns racing for the Japanese giants, a stretch that has seen the #36 collect two podiums, the 2020 MotoGP World Champion’s next chapter will be with Gresini Racing and Ducati – with the team also confirming a new multi-year deal to continue racing the Bologna brand's machines into MotoGP’s new era.
What's more, BK8 Gresini Racing has also confirmed that Mir will be racing a factory-spec Desmosedici in 2027, the same bike that Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta will be competing on with the Ducati Lenovo Team.
\nMir’s 15 MotoGP podiums to date, backed up with his MotoGP title glory in 2020 and a top three championship finish in 2021, means the 28-year-old and Holgado will form an exciting line-up at BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP that boasts a strong blend of youth and experience.
